Kiwi Berries

Now how lucky am I to be on vacation and not only find a farmer’s market but a fruit that I’ve been urning to try since I’d heard of it?

Kiwi berries, which are actually grown here in North America during the early autumn months, are obviously compared to traditional kiwi fruit. These berries grow in clusters and are rid of the fuzziness so there is no need for peeling. The concentrated kiwi sweetness reminded me of a gooseberry on steroids taking all the great things about kiwi’s, gooseberries and grapes and packing them into a tiny, poppable sized package.

Needless to say, I enjoyed them. Perhaps next time I might actually make something with them, although some things are just pretty tasty on their own.

If you find them, do try. They can get pricey, but they are worth the experience of trying something new.
